The Tradition Continues...

Welcome to the 29th Annual Round Valley Run & Walk event. We are excited to continue the tradition of this family-friendly activity and hope to continue improving each year. The 5.4 mile trail course is truly ideal for serious runners, those who are training for longer events, and for anyone who just wants to enjoy the beautiful scenery around the lake. The 1.50 mile Junior course is perfect for young participants working their way up to the full 5 miles. With the flat 2 mile walking course and the 200 yard children's run - there really is something for everyone.
After last year's race, we contacted nearly half of the participants to ask what they appreciate about this event and what they would like to see in the coming years. Almost everyone said it was the location that attracted them! It was no surprise that free hats, t-shirts, water bottles and the like were unimportant. The raffle too was something that most participants said distracted from the focus of running or walking for the sake of fun. So this year we have scaled back on the freebies, purchased reusable goodie bags and filled them with information about our beautiful location. Of course, we will still have medals, ribbons, prize money, and other gifts!
All proceeds from this event support a very unique community-building program called Community Connections. There are now more than 350 different services being offered and last year Members provided more than 3,300 hours of service in their communities.
We hope you and your family will join us this year. Please share this event with others who you think would appreciate visiting the lake and participating in a home-town event.
See you in there!
